An invitation from ANZCA New Zealand National Committee Chair, and NZSA President.

Rotorua beckons - we hope to see you there!

The New Zealand National Committee (NZNC) of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA) and the New Zealand Society of Anaesthetists (NZSA) are delighted to be jointly hosting the 2017 NZ Anaesthesia Annual Scientific Meeting in Rotorua.

Convenor Dr Kevin Arthur and the organising committee from Waikato Hospital’s Department of Anaesthesia are returning to Rotorua following the widely hailed success of the 2009 meeting, and have crafted another high-calibre event.

Top overseas and local speakers will explore the theme of “Fear and Excitement” – offering a wide range of topics intended to help you navigate those clinical conundrums that give you the willies in the dark hours of the night. Great social events will enable you to relax and catch up with colleagues, and there is always something new to check out in the healthcare industry exhibition.

The theme also reflects Rotorua’s deserved reputation for offering visitors a wide range of exhilarating activities in the heart of New Zealand’s thermal wonderland and a centre for Maori culture.

We hope that as many of you as possible from New Zealand, Australia and further afield take this opportunity to gather in Rotorua for what promises to be a first-rate ASM and to enjoy the region’s many attractions. Think how sad you will be if you’re left behind on the shop floor holding the phone while your colleagues line up for the best meeting of 2017.

We look forward to seeing you there.
